War goes on as my heart's about to break

This piece is also inspired by lyrics from the same band that got used in my last Cersei fanart. Tbh this line fits a lot of characters in Asoiaf and their tragedies, but Cat was the first one to pop into my head.

Cersei

I was in the mood for some dramatic cloak/cape thing and my choice fell on Cersei thanks to the lyrics of a song I was listening to. They've also got used for the quote in the piece.

Laundry day

Long time no see!
In light of the current tumblr mess I decided that maaaybe it's not that wrong to free this blog from dust. Even though I'm not as active as before due to real life, I still want to continue using it. Feel free to drop by occassionally.

Laundry day is inspired by the period of time all new NW recruits go through: They have to do various tasks and then get sorted by their prowess. So it's probable that they also had to do laundry at Castle Black since this is one of the stewards' tasks.

Redheads

A thing I should do more often is to draw SanSan, but somehow I always feel like I never get them right. The hand symbolism thing with Sandor is based on a dream I had during a fever.

Some love for House Tully with a young Cat, and Lysa and Sweetrobin (I did that one as a birthday present for a friend). Seeing them all in one post, I kinda feel like I have a preferred colour palette. Hmmm. 

Welcome home

I have some art that I did in december but didn't post here yet, so here we go. Most of it was sketchy because I was working on some bigger things.

For this one I used a certain song again just because to me it's my personal Theon Greyjoy song. I'm guilty of overusing the drowning symbolism with him. :')

Remember the time when I said that I should draw more SanSan? This is one of the rare occassions I actually did. The ladies next to them are Rohanne Webber and Lollys Stokeworth.

Also two even messier things I used for some experiments, but gave up on. In the initial stages the anatomy is not my focus. 

Rescue

Lately, I feel a large shift in my art style. I don't know if this is the direction I want to end up but for now it's a lot of fun to play around. The exercise and the things I will learn from it will be valuable though.

I've mentionend it before, I love Sandor x Sansa as a ship, but I rarely get around to do something for them. So I'm happy that I finished this.

And I played around some more. Many fancasts and fanarts for Arianne don't make me happy because they hardly follow the book descriptions, so I tried a thing myself. Plus a quick modern Sansa.

Sweater Starks

I started this as something messy to try some things out but this turned into this series because sweaters are cute and I always wanted to draw all the Starklings and their wolves.

I fell in love with doing these so hard, so I thought it would be a great idea to try them for ASOIAF as well.

You know, Arya and Bran shared a close bond and their memories of times spent together are the cutest. And I'm pretty sure they stole the occasional lemon cake.

I also really wanted to draw Ned x Cat for a long time already, so here we are. Ygritte is also very dear to me and I wanted to try her based more on book descriptions.

You know, I really love everything maritime and especially the old salt look with their beards and heavy-knit pullovers and yeah, I kinda had to draw Grenn that way (also bun because he's described to have long hair at some point soooo yes. Buns. I'm that cheap.). And boyfriends with a height difference because that's important.

Kitten king Tommen is inspired by this. There was also a post about the lack of Stark ladies hawking, so I took matters in my hands and did a fanart as well.

birthday gifts and happy children

I made this one as a (late) birthday gift for my friend Laura over at tumblr who is one of the biggest shippers of Rickon x Shireen I know. She introduced me to this ship back then and she writes the best heart-breaking fic, soo I figured it has to be it as a ship. Rickon's hair is based on my Skagos!AU.


But you know, happy children in happy AUs are even better. Myrcella and Shireen talking about their crushes on Ned Stark's son, which are super canon and give me life because that's the cutest thing ever. I wish we got to see Myrcella and Shireen interact in the novels because it's safe to assume that they grew up together, right?

I really wanted to crack the bear joke and it kinda turned into this little thing. Grenn probably was really done with Pyp after the day, so he had to do some revenge.
